A long post because it has been a long break over summer!! …but it was so good to be back out there at last eventing on the weekend!
We chose to go along to Seville Pony Club & Open Horse Trials to warm up the team for the season, thank you to Seville Pony Club and all of the OC and their volunteers for being so accommodating!
Thank you to everyone who helped out and made it a great weekend – sponsors The Saddlery Shop who had a stall there and also sponsor the event, Michele Geoffrey Towb who worked hard grooming for the JE horses as well as giving her own Teddy a positive first start in eventing, Rachael Edwards who always puts others first, and in this case has even put her horse first and given Sam the opportunity to show Mr Spot the ropes in eventing, and Elise Watkins who was introduced to the mayhem that is the Jeffree Eventing camp – riding her own Silk and strapping for Sam on her Johnny.
Sam rode Johnny in the Open 3 for his first ever event. Although his dressage was green he travelled really well cross country just taking a second look and some convincing to go in the water and then finishing with a great showjumping round. Mr Spot was also in the Open 3 and is feeling so much more established in his work this year! He did his best dressage test with Sam to date, and he sailed around both jumping phases like a pro to finish in 4th place. The Open 2 class doing the dressage indoors meant Wimborne Conjuror showed some tension in his test, but we could not be happier with his double clears and 7th place.
Calypso came along for the Open Champs and was great for dressage and cross country but reminded Sam of what is needed to get him around the showjumping.
And miss superstar Woodmount Lolita also went around the Open Champs and we could not possibly be more thrilled with her performance, producing a strong dressage test and feeling amazing going double clear to take the win!
Thanks Rider Video for the fantastic video of her round, it is hard to believe it was just one year ago we had her at her first ever event and had no idea what was in store! Thank you Fiona Mitchell for your belief in Lily, she just continues to impress and try so hard.
Much appreciation for our other sponsors too! All Jeffree Eventing horse are only fed James and Son Premium Horse Feed, and they wear their Flexible Fit Equestrian gear with pride. Our cheeky horses mean our rugs are constantly in for repair at Equus Rugs, but check this business out as Janine offers so much more than just rugs! Sharnika Design continues to patiently support us behind the scenes, be sure to get in touch with her for any of your web or social media needs. Natural Mobility keeps the horses always feeling great, and we cannot thank Elite Equine Veterinarians enough for working tirelessly with us over the break even when it is not competition season!
Next stop Tonimbuk Horse Trials!
