Cold morning starts were totally forgiven at Ballarat Horse Trials last week when they were followed by beautiful sunny days! In the CCI4star both Wimborne Conjuror and Santoro had a few fizzy moments in the dressage on Saturday. On the whole they both jumped well overall despite some rails on both horses and Sammy taking out a frangible pin during his cross-country round – they finished in 5th and 6th place. Santoro and Wimborne Conjuror looking fabulous at Wandin CCI! They jumped clear around the cross country and both ended up in the placings! All the while I was feeling safe and comfortable in my One K helmet, complete with the lastest MIPS technology, from EQ Saddlery. What a weekend! Feeling blessed to have such a strong team of horses making the trip to Sydney worthwhile! Santoro - 1st CCI2*L, Wimborne Conjuror - 2nd CCI2*L, & Woodmount Lolita - 3rd CCI4*S Things don’t always go to plan in the horse world but overall our Sydney event delivered! Santoro (Sammy) is a 16hh Warmblood gelding, who was bred at Ryan’s Horses in 2012. He is by Starnberg out of a Regardez Moi mare, and is owned by Sam and syndicate members including Karen Dabbs, and Mark and Lisa Rudelic. Santoro came to Jeffree Eventing in October 2018 but officially joined the team in July 2019. He finished 2nd overall in the Young Event Horse class at Melbourne 3DE in June, and then stepped up to 1 star level nicely, taking out 2nd place at Tooradin Horse Trials, only his second run at this level. On November 23 and 24 I ended the competition season at Tooradin Horse Trials, and it was a great way to finish with all of my horses coming home with rosettes! Congratulations to the committee who really changed it up this year with lots of new initiatives, the grounds looked amazing and the courses rode really well!
