It’s been a stellar year so far for Santoro, Sam and the Santoro Syndicate. Narrowly missing out on a place on the Australian Eventing Team for the World Championships in Aachen in August this year, they were still honored to be selected as a travelling reserve for the team.
This led to preparations for international travel, a flight across the world, and getting to take part in the pre-event team training in Belgium!
To make the most of this opportunity, a campaign in the Northern Hemisphere is planned. Starting with moving to a base in the UK, Santoro and Sam have been accepted and are set to take on Defender Burghley Horse Trials and are number 26 in the draw. Sam is super excited to be undertaking his biggest challenge to date!
Meanwhile, back in Australia, Team Jeffree received the news that Santoro has been awarded the prize for Equestrian Victoria’s Eventing Horse of the Year 2026, and Sam recognised as Equestrian Victoria’s Eventing Rider of the Year 2026!
