Where to even start with this fabulous event?!
I guess it goes without saying we need to start with the absolute superstar Woodmount Lolita in her first 4****. I was happy with a solid dressage test scoring sub 30 but still plenty of room for improvement which is also exciting! One rider rail in the showjumping but despite this Lily’s round was still the best on the night and we went into cross country in the lead! I was determined to stick to my plan and get her around a confident round not watching the clock, and although I felt like it took a few jumps to settle into a rhythm, I was stoked with how she answered every question and finished in 2nd. She was born to do this job!
I am very proud to have produced this horse to this level, and even better to be sharing this journey with Fiona Mitchell!! I am also well aware I would never have got to this point without the support of Will Enzinger, thank you for everything you have done over the years.
Although Princess Lily stole the limelight I was so happy with the rest of my team too, all of the horses got around in great style, none were pushed for time at this stage of the season.
Koyuna Tactician did a fabulous job in the 3***, it’s awesome to have this dude back out competing. Wimborne Conjuror jumped super around the 2** and I was thrilled to have my other young gun Santoro now up to 2** level too! He proved he is ready for the task and had no jump penalties.
I was also thrilled with my new ride Equus Helenik in the 1*, she jumped clear and is showing all the signs of being a solid contender for the future.
I also had Red Rue out in the EvA80 for some eventing comp experience for the Hodson family, he put in a good performance and finished in 4th place.
