Sam takes a win in the USA!

2019-07-23T11:31:20+00:00

A fabulous outcome for Sam at the 4yo Young Event Horse class at Maryland Horse Trials!! Prinz Von der Ahe ACF is a horse Sam has been training during his time with Boyd Martin. At this event they scored a fantastic 67.1 out of 70 for the jumping, gallop and overall impression to win the class! Sam also finished in 6th place on Magic Spirit, his other horse in that class — qualifying both for the USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships in October! The video below is Prinz at his very first cross country schooling session just [...]

The (Late) Long Thank You Post!

2019-06-28T11:39:03+00:00

We always love Melbourne International 3 Day Event! Janet McPherson Houghton you once again did a fantastic job running a super event! Our team had brilliant results, Woodmount Lolita maintained her impeccable record and took out the biggest win of her career to date in the CCI2*L, and the 2 6yo horses Santoro (Emma Riseley) and Wimborne Conjuror both in the placings (2nd and 4th) in the Young Event Horse class. Jaybee Calypso thoroughly enjoyed being the centre of attention in the 4star dressage demonstration too! Of course these results do not happen overnight, they only happen when each [...]

Lily the Wonder Mare

2019-06-11T08:38:27+00:00

On the weekend Fiona Mitchell's Woodmount Lolita added another win to what can only be described as a phenomenal season! Friends of Woady Yaloak Equestrian Association and all the volunteers did a great job running the event, thank you to all those involved and A Bit In A Bucket for their sponsorship of Lily’s class. Sam also had Jaybee Calypso in the 3star and he finished his season with a very credible 4th place. Wimborne Conjuror took his time on cross country to give him a confident round for his first time on a 1star course and we were very happy [...]

Two wins at Heytesbury Horse Trials!

2019-05-06T08:38:37+00:00

Wimborne Conjuror finished on his dressage score and led his EvA95 class from start to finish. Just one year ago at this same event Connor made his eventing debut in the EvA65 class! His eyes were out on stalks and he had no idea what was happening, so for him to feel like a real pro this year shows how far he has come since then! Woodmount Lolita felt amazing and also finished on her dressage score in the CCN2star class to take the win. What an incredible duo both owned by Fiona Mitchell who had a successful weekend [...]

Northern Isaac officially retires

2019-04-19T17:56:08+00:00

Northern Isaac was bred by the Northern Warmblood Stud in 2000 and was purchased by Sally Stelling as a 3yo in January 2004. He was scrawny and gangly back then, broken in but very green. Not long after this, Sally had an accident off another horse and after a stint in intensive care had to take a year off. After waiting that time, Sally eventually had the plate taken out of her collar bone only to have the bone collapse again just one day later which forced her to have to face yet another year off. At that time, [...]

Woodmount Lolita does it again! 2019 Australian Champions!

2019-04-19T16:54:23+00:00

With Woodmount Lolita (Lily) taking out the win at the Australian Championships in the CCI** class we continue to think how lucky we are to have such a talented horse as a member of our team! Looking back at her journey with us so far it is amazing to see how she has come along in leaps and bounds and is taking the eventing scene by storm! All of this seems crazy as this event last year marked her first EvA95 competition. Since then she continues to grow in confidence finishing in the top 4 at every event in 2018 [...]

Wandin welcomes Wendy and Wimborne Condor

2019-04-19T16:36:59+00:00

Wandin marked Wimborne Condor and Wendy’s first official start together going around the EvA65. Although Caden lacks a lot of the skills at the moment, his honesty and mum’s patient riding meant they had a fantastic time proven by the smile on mum’s face! There is still a long way to go but a very bright future with this combination which we are really looking forward to! Photo credit Michele Konheiser

2019 – Australian Eventing Championships at Wandin Park

2019-04-19T16:29:59+00:00

TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK! We always have a wonderful time at Wandin Horse Trials, and this year for the Australian Eventing Championships was no exception. We had 5 horses competing there this weekend. Sam rode: - Jaybee Calypso in the CCI*** class with great results in the dressage and cross country but the showjumping pulling him down to mid-field - the ever consistent Woodmount Lolita in the CCI** class to take out a win after completing the event with no jump or time faults - Wimborne Conjuror in the EvA95 who was tense in his dressage but also finished [...]
