Santoro flying through the Mansion grounds at Melbourne International 3 Day Event! I really couldn’t ask for much more from Santoro in the CCI4*S with a superb dressage test (30.8 penalties) and a clean SJ round! We made costly mistake at fence 4A on cross country where Santoro wasn’t able to read the fence properly and had a glance out but otherwise he felt incredible around the rest of the course. Santoro had a great final prep in the CCN3.5* before heading to Melbourne 3 Day scoring a 32.6 in dressage and a lovely clear SJ round. I decided not to run him XC to save his legs for Melbourne. Frosted Darkness continues to impress me scoring a 30.6 in dressage in the EvA80 and finishing on that score to put him in equal first and second overall on a count back! Such a ripper young horse!! Two Class Wins at Wandin Park IHT 2026

We had 4 quality horses out at Wandin Park IHT but it was Delure who got best on ground for me! A tactful extremely slow run at Tonimbuk, to build his confidence, paid dividends at Wandin as he finished on his dressage score (the only horse in the section to do so) of 26.9 to win his CCN1* class! This little future superstar felt incredible in all 3 phases and can’t thank Fiona Mitchell enough for backing and trusting me to bring him on. We are already in the swing of our competition season with a couple of smaller events complete with a team of young horses! Wimborne Caitlin, Fire Within and Cascabel went to Geelong HT to kick off their year. On the weekend at Seville HT we had Wimborne Caitlin in the open champs, Cascabel and Delure in the 105, Fire Within in the 95 and Frosted Darkness tackling his first event in the 80. Cascabel is a Warmblood gelding, foaled in 2019 and by Contenda, a bloodline long admired by Jeffree Eventing for producing quality event horses. Originally purchased by Elin Jarnestrom, Cascabel began his education under Elin before his talent was recognised by Sam while coaching her. With his impressive size, athleticism and obvious potential, it was decided he would be best suited to continue his career with a professional rider, and Sam was excited to take on the ride. Delure (Rudy) is an Off the Track Thoroughbred gelding, foaled in 2020 and sired by Dundeel. Sam first noticed Delure while he was completing trackwork at Price Kent Racing and was immediately impressed by his natural athleticism and the qualities that would make him a standout event horse.
