Huge thanks to Janet Houghton and the whole committee who work so hard and make and make the Spring Horse Trials a great event – the weather was even kind again this weekend at Werribee!

Although both horses were working beautifully in the lead up, spring fever seemed to suddenly hit both Wimborne Conjuror and Woodmount Lolita on their dressage day – both were a bit unsettled in their tests but also produced some lovely work. Connor’s distraction continued into showjumping where he uncharacteristically dropped a rail, but his clear and under time cross country lifted him back to finish 6th in the EvA80. Lily then redeemed herself by being brilliant in both jumping phases, adding no penalties to her dressage score and finishing 2nd in EvA105 (which is OK when you are beaten by your coach Will Enzinger!).

Northern Isaac showed no signs of spring fever in his dressage test, producing some soft rhythmical work for Mum. After adding no jumping penalties and a faster cross country round than Friends, just 10 seconds over this time, they ended in 2nd place overall in EvA80.

I was happy with Jaybee Calypso’s dressage test in our first CIC3star, some nice soft work to score over 70% from both judges. Sadly, the same cannot be said about the next day – showjumping did not go smoothly to plan and we had to finish our competition there.

We really appreciate the support of Fiona Mitchell and her valuable assistance on Saturday too, and thank you to Michele Geoffrey Towb for her work with the horses all weekend!

And we couldn’t do what we do without the support of our sponsors!
