What a champion! This special horse deserves his own post for his effort at Woady Yallock Horse Trials on the weekend. Koyuna Tactician did a great dressage test, showjumped clear and took a couple of time faults on cross country to secure the win in the 3*. It’s been a long hard road for Tom since his 4th place at Melb3DE in the 2* in 2018... so we can’t wait to see him back there again in the 3* class in two weeks time!!
A great event at Albury last weekend for our horses – not so good for vehicles! We got 2 new truck tyres during the event and a shredded tyre on the float on the way home! Thank you to the OC who ran a great comp that all went very smoothly. We had a successful weekend at Friends of Ballarat Eventing Association Horse Trials last weekend. Congratulations to the committee who have had to overcome many trying circumstances, at last it all happened and in glorious weather too! What a brilliant event we had last week at Wandin Park. Many thanks to Jarryd Stanley and the whole team involved in running such a huge event, the OC did a fabulous job and the grounds looked stunning! Another super event for Jeffree Eventing on the weekend where I rode 6 horses. Firstly a big thankyou to the organising committee of Tonimbuk Horse Trials for everything they had to deal with, and ensuring that riders and horses remained safe in some trying conditions. Santoro (Sammy) is a 16hh Warmblood gelding, who was bred at Ryan’s Horses in 2012. He is by Starnberg out of a Regardez Moi mare, and is owned by Sam and syndicate members including Karen Dabbs, and Mark and Lisa Rudelic. Santoro came to Jeffree Eventing in October 2018 but officially joined the team in July 2019. It was 6 years almost to the day between Calypso coming into our lives and his official retirement from top level eventing with Sam at the Aus3DE in 2019. Calypso was purchased from Alexandra Townsend when he was 11 years old and Sam had just turned 15. On November 23 and 24 I ended the competition season at Tooradin Horse Trials, and it was a great way to finish with all of my horses coming home with rosettes! Congratulations to the committee who really changed it up this year with lots of new initiatives, the grounds looked amazing and the courses rode really well!
