Two Class Wins at Wandin Park IHT 2026

We had 4 quality horses out at Wandin Park IHT but it was Delure who got best on ground for me! A tactful extremely slow run at Tonimbuk, to build his confidence, paid dividends at Wandin as he finished on his dressage score (the only horse in the section to do so) of 26.9 to win his CCN1* class! This little future superstar felt incredible in all 3 phases and can’t thank Fiona Mitchell enough for backing and trusting me to bring him on. We are already in the swing of our competition season with a couple of smaller events complete with a team of young horses! Wimborne Caitlin, Fire Within and Cascabel went to Geelong HT to kick off their year. On the weekend at Seville HT we had Wimborne Caitlin in the open champs, Cascabel and Delure in the 105, Fire Within in the 95 and Frosted Darkness tackling his first event in the 80. Santoro strikes again taking out the CCI4*S at Tonimbuk! Stable mate Wimborne Conjuror following closely finishing in third position! Cold morning starts were totally forgiven at Ballarat Horse Trials last week when they were followed by beautiful sunny days! In the CCI4star both Wimborne Conjuror and Santoro had a few fizzy moments in the dressage on Saturday. On the whole they both jumped well overall despite some rails on both horses and Sammy taking out a frangible pin during his cross-country round – they finished in 5th and 6th place. Santoro and Wimborne Conjuror looking fabulous at Wandin CCI! They jumped clear around the cross country and both ended up in the placings! All the while I was feeling safe and comfortable in my One K helmet, complete with the lastest MIPS technology, from EQ Saddlery. Wimborne Caitlin

Wimborne Caitlin was bred by Wimborne Park stud in 2017, and Sam purchased her directly from there in September 2020 when she was just turning 3. Caitlin is full sister to the 4star Wimborne Conjuror. At the time of her purchase Victoria was in the grip of Covid lockdowns but Sam was convinced this filly has what it takes to go all the way to the top. Since then Caitlin has had a combination of training and spells to allow her to grow and mature. What a weekend! Feeling blessed to have such a strong team of horses making the trip to Sydney worthwhile! Santoro - 1st CCI2*L, Wimborne Conjuror - 2nd CCI2*L, & Woodmount Lolita - 3rd CCI4*S Things don’t always go to plan in the horse world but overall our Sydney event delivered!
