Wandin marked Wimborne Condor and Wendy’s first official start together going around the EvA65. Although Caden lacks a lot of the skills at the moment, his honesty and mum’s patient riding meant they had a fantastic time proven by the smile on mum’s face! TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK! We always have a wonderful time at Wandin Horse Trials, and this year for the Australian Eventing Championships was no exception. We had 5 horses competing there this weekend. Thank you to Tonimbuk Horse Trials Inc. for the opportunity to blow the cobwebs out and get the horses doing some freshmans jumping in preparation for the new season. It’s planning time! Lots of people have that light at the end of the tunnel idea, but sometimes those long term inspirations are not helpful with your day to day plans or motivation! Working backwards from an objective helps give clear direction in your daily riding plans. At last our new mirrors are complete! And it goes without saying that Calypso believes they were installed just for him of course! Sam was thrilled to complete his first cross-country round at the Australian International Three Day Event, clear of jump penalties and under time in the CCI2* class with Jaybee Calypso. We're very thankful to have a record of this highlight in the video made by An Eventful Life.
What an amazing time we had at the Australian International 3 Day Event! In a field of almost 50 riders in the CCI** we were in 6th place after a fairly solid dressage test and went into the lead after an almost perfect cross country round. Although we had trained hard for the showjumping and I tried to ride what I had on the day as best I could, Calypso had a stop and rails that dropped us out of the placings and into 23rd overall.
